Nordic Welfare Centre
Background and challenge
The Nordic Welfare Centre is an institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers, with offices in Sweden and Finland. It provides a platform for cooperation between the Nordic countries on social welfare and public health. It is also home to PopNAD, a website that makes Nordic research on alcohol, drugs, doping, tobacco and gambling accessible to a wider audience.
The previous website was around eight years old and ready for a complete overhaul: a new structure, a fresh design and a modern technical foundation, with WCAG-compliant accessibility and all existing content preserved.
Solution
As a web agency we began work in the first quarter of 2026 with a digital strategy, an SEO analysis and a technical review of the existing website. These findings informed our wireframes and new design, giving topic areas, publications, news and events a clear, accessible place within the site.
We built a new WordPress website in Scandinavian languages and English, with PopNAD as a dedicated section under the Nordic Welfare Centre. We migrated all content from the old website, with WCAG-compliant accessibility built into both the design and the code.
The new website launched in the third quarter of 2026, and we continue to manage and maintain it in partnership with the Nordic Welfare Centre.
