Background and challenge

Svenska Budo & Kampsportsförbundet is a leading force in Swedish martial arts, bringing together 28 sports, around 800 clubs and some 60,000 members across the country. With such a large and varied organisation, the administration of competition cards, event approvals and events needs to run smoothly, securely and efficiently.

For years, many of these processes were handled manually, using Excel spreadsheets, documents and time-consuming administrative tasks. Large volumes of information also needed to be managed accurately, with full traceability and in line with modern security requirements. It became clear that the existing approach was no longer fit for purpose. The federation needed a digital solution to reduce the administrative burden, simplify day-to-day work and give everyone involved greater peace of mind.

Solution

As a web agency, we developed a bespoke WordPress platform that brings the federation’s key administrative workflows together in a modern, user-friendly solution. With Freja eID for secure identity verification and a personal My account area, digital competition cards could replace their physical counterparts. Applications for event approval also moved online, while integration with Swedbank Pay made payments simple and secure.

The new platform allows organisers, doctors and administrators to share information securely, while statistics are collected automatically and the risk of lost documents is kept to a minimum. Together with Pigment, the federation has taken a major step towards more efficient digital administration. The modern website and supporting platform ease the organisation’s workload, strengthen security and give members and visitors a secure, seamless experience.
